Anara Davletaliyeva

Born in Soviet Union, now Kazakhstan, Anara has come a long way to pursue her dreams! A typical bookworm at school and university, she only became interested in sport and physical activity after graduating.

Anara studied Thai boxing for over a year, but decided she wanted to try something new and more feminine, which is when she discovered pole dancing. She has now been poling for three years and hasn’t looked back. She loves how pole takes her out of her comfort zone and away from her day job as a software developer.

Anara is looking forward to performing on stage as a 2014 Pole Evolution™ Company Dancer.

        Kayla Ramiscal

Born in Hawaii, Kayla tried many forms of dance as a child; however it wasn’t until she joined her high school cheer-leading squad that she discovered her enthusiasm for dance. During her time as a cheerleader, Kayla competed in both state and national championships. She also began experimenting with other forms of dance such as hula, jazz, tap and belly dance.

When Kayla made the move to Australia in 2011, she took a break from dance until she stumbled across a pole studio on the NSW South Coast. Kayla has now been pole-ing for 2 years, and recently qualified and competed as a finalist in the NSW Pole Championships.

She is excited about the possibilities that being a Pole Evolution™ Company dancer will bring.

          Brook Lam

Always curious about pole, Brook attended her first open night at Studio Verve® in May 2011. This spurred her curiosity further and she signed up to PoleFit® 1 the next day. Growing up playing basketball and oztag, sport has always been a big part of Brook’s life. At a very young age, this girl decided, she loved to sweat!

Driven by the mental and physical challenges of pole, Brook likens pole to ‘a marathon, not a sprint’. Though it sometimes takes some time to achieve certain skills, it’s an exciting and challenging journey and she credits PoleFit® for her increased strength, flexibility and most importantly, body awareness. Being able to manoeuvre her body in ways she would never have imagined, pole has been an empowering journey for her.

Brook is a proud PoleFit instructor at Studio Verve Dance Fitness, who recently qualified and competed as a finalist in the NSW Australian Pole Championships with ‘Fusion Five’. She is excited about continuing her pole journey as a Pole Evolution™ dancer.

            Alana Greig

Originating from the snowy town of Cooma, Alana has been dancing since she was 4 years old. Starting with jazz, as she got older she soon found that it wasn’t enough and quickly took up ballet and contemporary dance as well. Having participated in her high school’s Rock Eisteddfods from year 7, she eventually began to choreograph small parts in year 12 and continued on in her gap year finishing school. Always seeking more opportunities to express herself through dance, when Alana moved to Sydney in 2009 it didn’t take her long to discover Studio Verve® and her passion for pole dancing ensued.

2014 has been a big year for Alana, she recently qualified and competed as a finalist in the NSW Pole Championships in the group division with ‘Fusion Five’, and also directed the musical ‘Urinetown’.

With her love of performing, Alana is excited to be a Pole Evolution™ Company Dancer.

              Phoebe Shand

From a young age Phoebe has enjoyed all kinds of forms of movement – from dancing, to acrobatics, to soccer. During her high school years, Phoebe tried many types of dance: jazz, tap, Irish, belly-dancing… she loved them all for different reasons. Each form of dance had its own variations and strengths that gave them all unique places in her life, and she is yet to find a more amazing form of self-expression than the one she can achieve through dance.

Phoebe was also a part of the ‘Spaghetti Circus’ – a local circus school in the hills of the Byron Bay Shire. It was here that she developed her love of acrobatic and tumbling skills, and began developing her flexibility. Her favourite skills were tumbling and static trapeze. Phoebe is often referred to as ‘the super base’ for her ability to be a strong and reassuring ‘base’ for her partner when learning any doubles or tumbling tricks in class.

Phoebe is also a qualified PoleFit instructor at Studio Verve Dance Fitness. Phoebe’s passion for pole dancing is ever growing, having also qualified and competed as a finalist in the NSW Pole Championships group division with ‘Fusion Five”; she is looking forward to where her own pole journey will take her as a Pole Evolution™ dancer.

                Clare O’Bree

Earning a reputation for being able to pack every pole skill she’s mastered into each of her routines, Clare’s passion for pole fitness® is loud and proud! Not having a strong urge to continue with dance lessons as a child or the usual fitness trends later on as an adult, Clare was a little apprehensive when she signed up for her first PoleFit® lesson. Thinking her lack of upper body strength would let her down; her concerns soon vanished once class started. Clare ended up having so much fun, she’s been attending ever since!

A firm believer of the PoleFit® program, Clare has transformed from someone who avoided physical activity to someone who now thrives on it. She is constantly amazed by the strength and flexibility she has gained from pole dancing and loves that there is always something new to learn. She will try anything challenging or that involves being upside down and has since further developed her aerial skills by studying other disciplines such as Silks, Lyra, Static and Flying Trapeze. Clare lives by the mantra, “you get back what you put in” and believes you can do anything if you really put your mind to it, you just have to practice! She loves teaching at Studio Verve® because she gets to share her pole passion with others and keeps fit doing so.

Clare recently qualified and competed as a finalist in the NSW Australian Pole Championships with her fellow Studio Verve instructor group Fusion Five. Clare is passionate about furthering her pole performance skills as a Pole Evolution™ Company Dancer.

                    Kristy Lucas

Kristy has been dancing for four years, majoring in Contemporary, Jazz Funk Hip Hip and most recently, pole dancing. She has trained at schools such as Jazz Factory, Ecole Ballet, L.I.K.E. Dance, J.O. International Productions and Australian Performing Arts Grammer School, all promoting their talent through Live Performances.

At 17 she was a part of J.O. International Productions, performing at the Easter Show, the Cancer Research Mother’s Day event and also competing in Showcase Australia Eisteddfod taking out second place.

For Kristy, dance has the ability to express emotions through a strong connection of contrasting dance movements. Through performing, Kristy conveys her emotions using numerous styles of dance to captivate her audience and stimulate their hearts with the same intense love Kristy has for dancing.

It wasn’t until February 2014, that Kristy decided to explore a different genre, pole dancing at Studio Verve, Surry Hills.
